They have been a valued support to some of our isolated patients during the Covid-19 pandemic. In some situations they can offer injections for musculoskeletal conditions.  If you need a course of Physio treatment they will refer you into the Harrogate Hospital Physio department.

If you have a new problem with your back, neck, joints or muscles you can book to see the FCP. The FCPs see our patients initially, and you do not need to see a GP before you see an FCP. Reception can book you directly into their appointments. Appointments are usually available within two weeks and often sooner than that.  They are based in the surgery every day and available to see patients face to face or undertake telephone appointments when necessary.

The GPs value their specialist knowledge and often ask their opinion on difficult cases. Dr Craven says “If I had a musculoskeletal problem, I would ask for the FCP!”.
