Child NHS Autism Assessment
NHS Child Autism Assessments are undertaken by Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust.
Families can self refer and get up to date waiting time information by visiting the HDFT website.
Right to Choose (NHS funded assessments) with a private provider
Find a provider: Research and identify an NHS-approved provider that offers autism assessments for adults and has a shorter waiting list.
- Complete pre-referral information: Visit your chosen provider’s website and complete any required pre-referral forms or questionnaires (like the AQ10) to help them assess your eligibility.
- Ask for the referral: Contact Strayside Health by completing an eConsultation with your chosen provider’s details and your pre-referral forms and we will send your referral to that specific service under the Right to Choose legislation.
- Confirm the referral: Follow up with your chosen provider after your referral is sent to ensure it has been received and processed correctly.
