Medication before and during pregnancy

Most medicines taken during pregnancy cross the placenta and reach the baby.

If you are taking medication and are planning a pregnancy, or have recently found out that you are pregnant, please submit an eConsult so that we can advise you further.

If you are taking medication that is currently supervised by a hospital specialist and are thinking about conceiving, please discuss your plans with them in your next appointment.
